Traditional & New Chiropractic techniques for back and neck pain from Your North Jersey Chiropractors.
Chiropractic, which is part of the well-developed and effective care at Montvale Health Associates, is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health.
Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.
Doctors of Chiropractic – often referred to as chiropractors or chiropractic physicians – practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment.
Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, and lifestyle counseling.
Chiropractic Adjustment (Manipulation)
The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as “spinal adjustment,” also called “chiropractic manipulation.”
The purpose of the chiropractic adjustment is to realign the spinal vertebrae which have lost their normal alignment. The loss of normal alignment causes a condition known as vertebral subluxation (impinged nerve). This results in the impingement (irritation) of the spinal nerve interfering with the normal nerve flow from the brain to the tissue.
