Knee Joint Injection – EUFLEXXA®

Doctors at Montvale Health & Wellness use EUFLEXXA®, a pain relieving knee injection for patients with Osteoarthritis (OA).

knee-jointEUFLEXXA® is a Hyaluronic Acid (HA) injection. HA is a natural, gel-like substance found in the fluid of a healthy knee, which cushions and protects the joint. In osteoarthritis, there may not be enough HA, or the quality of the HA may decrease. When EUFLEXXA® is injected into the knee, it replenishes the HA, helping to provide effective and long-lasting pain relief up to six months.

EUFLEXXA® for Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee is a chronic degenerative joint disease experienced by over 10 million people. OA wears away the cushioning tissue (or cartilage) of the knee joint and causes the thick fluid that lubricates the knee joint to become thinner and less effective. When the deterioration of cartilage becomes severe, the bones grind together, causing pain and stiffness.

The Benefits of EUFLEXXA®

If you have OA of the knee and cannot find pain relief with traditional medications or physical therapy, consider EUFLEXXA® as a treatment option. Read more about its advantages below:

  • Pain treatment at its source — Unlike pills that can irritate your digestive system, EUFLEXXA® treats OA pain directly at the knee and is not distributed throughout the body.
  • All-natural, non-bird-derived source — EUFLEXXA® can be used in people who are allergic to poultry products. In addition, unlike other HA therapies, EUFLEXXA® is not processed with additives like formaldehyde or vinyl sulfone.
  • Improved ability to perform everyday activities – OA patients who have had EUFLEXXA® injections report that knee pain no longer interferes with their daily activities.

If you have OA and are interested in learning if you are a candidate for EUFLEXXA® injections, make an appointment to talk to one of our experienced doctors.
