In 2006 Johanns graduated from the State College of Florida PTA program in Bradenton, Florida, and also earned a Corrective Exercise Specialization from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Johanns began his career at Bollettieri Sports Medicine located within IMG academies, which is a world-renowned sports training facility for professional and non-professional athletes of all ages.
While he was there he learned how to combine some of the principles of physical therapy with performance training. In late 2007 he began working for an Orthopedic Surgical group-owned PT clinic. There he had the privilege to observe surgeries on a weekly basis. Since then he has worked in various outpatient clinics over the years treating a variety of conditions, but mainly focusing on shoulder rehabilitation and injury prevention.
Recently he began working with IFBB Pro Bodybuilders. He provides them with different manual therapy techniques to improve mobility, and to reduce the risk of injury during their training.
